Dead Horse Point State Park is located about 45 miles from Moab, Utah, near Canyonland National Park. It's way out in the desert, with pretty much nothing around it, except canyon views of the Colorado River that are more beautiful than the Grand Canyon. Sunsets are a "must see in your life time" event. Even nicer is that there aren't any crowds (though there are more people there now than used to be).
