Thank you to Sam Houston
for submitting these pictures and writing some of the descriptions.
Thank you to David Beihoff
for writing most of the descriptions for the trails and pictures.
The Moab Rim Trail is a 4+ on the Red Rock 4 Wheeler scale and includes steep off camber rock climbs and ledges. The first part of the trail runs along the very edge of the canyon wall and the steep drop off serves to remind you to place your tires carefully. Moab Rim is a short round trip trail that will take half a day because of the difficulty level. Thanks to some excellent spotting on the part of Sam Houston, the only difficulty anyone had on the trail was when David Beihoff's lack of ground clearance prevented him from making it up two of the ledges. That problem was remedied with a couple of quick tugs by Tim Bramble. Special thanks needs to be given to Janice Beihoff and Sam Houston who, despite the fact that the ground was hot enough to fry an egg on, hiked up and down almost the whole trail spotting and taking pictures and video for the group.

A view of the Colorado River from Moab Rim Trail. The river had gone down quite
a bit since the first Renegade 4WD Club group went in June. Now there were
actually islands and sand banks visible in the river.
Tim Bramble making crawling down the Z turn look easy.
(pictures above) David Beihoff coming down the Z turn. The last picture in the
series was a lot of fun because David was a little far to the right and was
getting close to tipping over forward (Note the air under the rear tire).
David will never forget Sam saying, "Can you hold it there? I've got to get a
picture of this!"
Tony Schaber coming down the Z turn with Sam's wife Angie
holding on for dear life.
Rick Curtis taking his turn coming down the Z turn.
David, Tony and Rick approaching the end of the trail that
runs right along the edge of the drop off.
(pictures above) Tim, David, Tony and Rick coming down an obstacle I believe
is called "The Devil's Crack". Devil's Crack is the first place David
needed a tug from Tim on the way up the trail.
