Renegades Monteagle Ride

May 18, 2002

by Denny Melcher

Important Note:   The land around Monteagle is private land and is not open for public use!
DO NOT TRESPASS! You may be arrested and the land owners will close the trails to everyone!
We go there with local people that have permission to use the trails. If you do not have permission, you are trespassing.

Monteagle has become one of the favorite places for the club to visit! It seems that each time we plan a trip these days there is more of the "Hatfields and McCoys" stuff going on with property owners in the area. I do hope that "we" aren't the reason for all of the squabbling!

Club members present on the ride were: Barron Cain, Denny Melcher, Eric Munsen, Joe Leeper, Justin Smith, Ken Brasswell and Patrick Corkren. There were allot of friends along for the ride as well as the Tennessee contingent and Brent led the ride to Cowan.

Conditions were less than optimal for everyone! The first one up, was the most likely to have any chance at all when it got difficult. Of course there were exceptions to that. Some pushed to the limit and beyond to tackle the waterfall area.

Munsen's Maiden Voyage with the YJ was a good one. He hammered it and nothing broke! Ken had some ARB problems on the hybrid, but everyone just enjoyed hearing it run. It sounds good! Al had some steering problems that limited his wheeling!

Does anyone else remember the movie "The Longest Yard"? Well I can sum up the day with something like that! The Longest 100 Yards! And a good time was had by all!!
