The Renegade 4WD Club joined the Middle Tennessee Trail Runners in riding the
much anticipated dry river bed at Monteagle. The river bed is only dry for a
couple of months during the year and even then the weather must have been
dry long enough for the deep pools to be passable. In short, this ride is only
possible once every few years and this summer was such a year!
Thanks to Tim Bramble for the pictures. Tim was riding with Henry Burkitt.
This red Cherokee belongs to
Steve Turek.
He thought his 33" tires were way too small for this ride and he caught a lot
of minor dents on this ride. To be fair, the Trail Runners warned us that 35"
tires would be required for this ride.
Dr. Richard Bagby of the Middle Tennessee Trail Runners. If you want lessons on
how to drive on a trail, this is a guy to watch.
You can see that this river bed is literally nothing but rocks, either small
ones (left picture) or large ones (right picture).
This monster Jeep with 44" tires belongs to
Henry Burkitt.
This tire size was appropriate for this trail.
Several vehicles on different sections of the trail.
More of Steve Turek, with his undercarriage hung up on the big rocks.
Gotta love those steps and ledges.

Thank you for visiting!!!
